CARNATIONS

Hi

Last weekend my husband decided that we should go out for dinner ...We wanted to see the new mall AMPA MALL and off we went. My experience was sort of mixed. On reaching the gates of the mall we were very pleased to see that there was an Automatic display board which kept updating the vacant parking slots....something new to chennai, Automatic parking tickets again new to chennai...and we thought that IT IS SOO NICE:-), they have a huge parking bay. We were there at around 8 in the evening and i guess the people to monitor the parking were very hasseled with the crowd because it took a little time to park though there was enough vacant space. Shopping was a good experience ..as always:-) and next we headed to the food court. It was crowded and my daughter ordered some food...IT WAS BAD..was it the choice of food or the time( was around 10 PM), i do not know but we all came out heavy hearted ..guess why????? well i was unhappy with the whole experience, my daughter with the dinner and my husband "WITH A LIGHTER WALLET" :) :-) because we made up for the bad dinner with more shopping...........
After this not so nice experience wanted to lift my spirits , and the best way was to do something creative and so decided to craft some cold porcelain carnations. When i finished crafting these flowers, I SMILED AND IT DID BRING SMILES ON MY HUSBAND'S FACE TOO:-)My daughter was too happy to take the pictures of these flowers

We all liked it, did u?????????

CENTER PIECE OR NAPKIN RINGS??????????????:-)

HI

I guess most of us will know that these flowers made of stockings are used mostly as center pieces. When done with lot of colours we can make a good center piece. Most of the flowers can be replicated in stockings though we can never ever go anywhere near "THE CREATION".
Now to the discussion of flowers, i did make some flowers with long stalks. Not that i will intuitive enough to know i would be having a different use for it in the future, just that i had a taller vase:-). The other day while i was browsing the internet i found a video on you tube about this flower being used a s a napkin ring......... Well.....rest is what you see:-)

I tried to get the link for you all but am not able to find it anymore, dunno if it is removed by the author.will try to post the link as soon as i find it..that's a promise

After doing all this i thought i could do some and keep it as a gift so that its a pleasure to the one who receives it that it could be used as both.........is it not a great idea!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

FLORAL PHOTO FRAME

Its been a while that i have blogged here, got a little busy with things at home and i kept saying to myself and others that "I AM BUSY":-).This changed the other day..... wondering why??????????
Well well I had to buy supplies for my silk paintings and had been to my nearest pebeo dealer. He stacks almost all art supplies and while i was picking up the dyes i saw my gynecologist enter the shop. I was surprised. I wondered as to what a DOCTOR could possibly do in an art shop and told myself that she might have come down to buy something for her son.well! i just couldn't stop myself from blurting out"HI DR UMA! YOU PAINT AS WELL?" and the instant reply was "oh yeah! i do dabble". That made me think.....This person is a leading gynecologist and has a very busy schedule and if she can afford a little time for her hobbies, then............................
SO i immediately set to work and this is the creation inspired by doctor whose time management stunned me..

hmmmm i just am not ready to create a wooden photo frame so thought may be i will decorate one!!!!!!!!!:-)

The credit of taking the pictures goes to my daughter , she did it with lot of patience since it has a mirror, the first few pictures had her image as well but her persistence paid off:-)

Flower 'N' Glass

I am sure most of us have many crockery like these at home.

I love to buy these and stock. Not that i keep entertaining guests:-) just that i like the very look and shapes of these. Sometimes i wonder though why i go on these shopping spree when i see my delicate crockery just lying there in my crockery unit. I feel as though they are looking at me pathetically, cursing me:-(not to have given them a better chance in a better place..........

WELL WELL this was how i felt until i saw some of the works of my Friend AISHA . She has crafted many a pieces with these delicate crockery and is truly my inspiration. And now i have used many of my crockery but i still feel bad.........guess why???????????hmmmmmmmmmm

Because i cant find many when my guests turn up.....hahaha:-)

small holders from scrap

hi
After a great Pongal meal i am back to blogging:-)
well, i had some dough left , a little of all colors and i did not want to do flowers with the same colours. Well, my daughter came up with an idea to inspire me to do something different:-). she mixed up dough of three colours thinking that she would end up with a bright new colour, hmmmm...........what did we get????????????????///
"A DULL BROWN COLOUR".........and not it was her turn to sulk and my turn to pep her up,.So i decided to use it anyway and thus this creation.

Having done this we both felt we could experiment more and we successfully created these two holders as well.WE are very happy with the results.............

That's my pet SIMBA who refused to get out of the focus of the camera.....wants to be seen in the blogging world too:-)

CANDLE HOLDERS

HI
I had a good break from the routine yesterday........had a great day at Mahabalipuram.
It was a family get together with my husband's office colleagues. Was well organized and the fun part was at GRT TempleBay and the events that were organized were too good.
The event managers made sure that the child in everyone came OUT. WELL, well mine did :-)
hmmm so, i am back with a new jest and vigour and today i am posting a few candle stands that i made for my friends this Christmas.
It's fun doing these candle holders as it gives space to my creativity.
Have a look and enjoy your visit here.
